Marc Burckhardt
Marc Burckhardt grew up in Waco, Texas and in 2010 was named as the State Artist of Texas by the legislature. A graduate of Baylor University, Burckhardt was named one of Baylor's 150 Most Notable Alumni in 2009. In 1989 he received a BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, graduating with honors. Burchardt’s paintings reference mythology, religious iconography and traditional naturalist illustration. These elements are woven together to create intriguing narratives in both his commercial and gallery work.
